Kevin James Rich of West Brighton, NY born February 12, 1959 passed away peacefully, on May 22, 2021. He was a constant in many lives – a friend to all. Kevin was known for his hard work throughout his professional and personal life. He was always willing to lend a hand, an ear, and his heart. His children and his grandchildren were the joy of his life, bringing him much pride. He enjoyed sailing, tinkering, and riding his many Harleys. He had a love of collecting things, and if you needed it, he had it, or the parts to fix it. As a long-time member of AA, he gained a whole community, much like an extended family. Through these relationships he touched many lives, walking with them down the path of sobriety. He will forever be remembered for being the kindest soul in the room, with the most contagious laugh and smile. It’s important to remember, as he would say, “Be kind to yourself.”
He is survived by his daughters Jessica Rich, Emily Rich, and Candace Ellis. Grandchildren; Abbigail, Vincent, Kingsley, Chris, Nathan, and Jaylynn. He is survived by his mother Marilyn A Rich (Hancock), predeceased by his father Stanley G Rich. Survived by seven siblings: Marsh (Vicki) Rich, Eric (Maureen) Rich, Amy (Bill) Louk, Adam (Mary) Rich, Nelson (Peggy) Rich, Heidi (Vladimir) Fabre, and Sarah Rich. Many nieces and nephews; Nate, Trevor, Margaret, Rose, Charles, Myles, Molly, Rudy, Dimitri, Anne, Matt, and Adam. Survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a tribute to Kevin, do something nice for someone who could use it. Be there for a friend in need. That is what he would have done, and that’s what he would want.
