Leah M. Snyder

d. December 11, 2019

Rochester, NY:  Dec 11, 2019, on her 89th birthday. Leah is preceded by her sisters Helen, Jane (Merkley), Melva (Tomb) and brother Tom. She is survived by her sister Ruth (Myette), husband Robert, daughter Annette, and son Brian, as well as many other loving family and friends.
Leah worked as secretary for the music department at Roberts Wesleyan College for 17 years, amassing another “family” of students who came to know her as “Aunt Leah”. Leah enjoyed having her adopted “kids” over for Sunday dinner or evening coffee. She also sang for many years in the choir at Pearce Church. Later in life, after retirement she enjoyed making lamps for people on special occasions that might include an engagement or a new baby. She took up coloring and word puzzles and would spend literally hours in her recliner with an assortment of crayon and colored pencils. More than anything she loved talking with her sisters on the phone.
The family would like to extend a particular word of thanks to both Unity Hospital for their exceptional compassion and extraordinary care shown to Leah in her final days, and also to her family physician, Tim Clark, who showed her years of committed and generous care. We are truly grateful.
Leah’s memorial service will be Friday Dec 27th and Pearce Church in North Chili, NY at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to Samaritan’s Purse in her memory.
