Lorinda “Linda” M. Akins

d. March 12, 2020

Canandaigua, NY – March 12, 2020 at age 73.

Linda is predeceased by her Father, Bill G. Green and Mother, Virgie M. Walters Green of Azle,Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Schuler (Dave), two granddaughters, Emma Simmons and Chloe Schuler, two brothers Billy Green (Donna) and Dusty Green (both from Azle, Texas), many nieces, nephews, loving family, friends and her beloved cat Sam.

Linda retired after many years from owning and operating an Executive Secretarial Suite in the Sinclair Building in downtown Fort Worth, TX. She started out working at what is now called Lockheed Martin then going on to work in the Oil & Gas industry as an Executive and Legal Secretary. In the 1980’s, she was also an entrepreneur for more than one business – she started a real estate business with her two brothers, two different secretarial businesses and she even built her own duplex in White Settlement, TX and was a landlord for many years.

In 2001, she moved to upstate New York to be with her daughter and granddaughter(s). Throughout her years, she enjoyed her dog, Abigail and several cats – most recently her beloved Sam. She loved to laugh, be with beloved friends & family and listen to her favorite music. She was the life of the party, so-to-speak. Her family members cherish the wonderful conversations they had with her.

Her daughter would like to especially thank her dedicated caregivers over the past several years, Peggy Wood and Brenda Stuhlmiller for their compassionate care for Linda. Linda very much benefitted from and appreciated their care and companionship!

Linda cared deeply about injustices done to the innocent. In her memory, and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Innocence Project.org – https://www.innocenceproject.org/give/. Linda has been cremated through Rochester Cremation/White Haven Memorial Park. There will be a small memorial service in the coming months at her apartment building (Thompson Apartments in Canandaiguia, NY) and finally she will be buried in Fort Worth, Texas in the near future. Announcements will be made appropriately.
