HENRIETTA, NY – Marcia passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, at age 81, surrounded by her immediate family. Marcia is predeceased by her parents Edward & Anna Tryon, and brothers Michael Tryon and Melvin Tryon. She is survived by daughter Darlene (Charles) Fitzwater, sons, Daniel Feldman, and Donald (Rebecca) Feldman, grandchildren Raechel, Brandi, Erica, Brian, Hailey, and Mackenzie, great-grandchildren Varro & Reyah, brother Marvin (Kathleen) Tryon, sister Madeline Augustine, and other loving family and friends. Marcia achieved her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation after age 50 and retired from a successful career at Pulsafeeder, Inc. in 2012. She was a giver who volunteered her time and talents throughout most of her life in different capacities. Most recently, Marcia dedicated 10 years of service as the elected Secretary for the Henrietta Public Library Friends & Foundation (HPLFF) Board. Her significant contributions included a complete re-write of the Friends & Foundation Bylaws, a project she was very proud to have accomplished using her excellent research skills and knowledge of New York State Not-For-Profit Law. She also participated in various fund raisers such as “Roc The Day” and worked the HPL Book Sales. Marcia’s past volunteer work included serving as the Director of the (former) Canandaigua House of Hope, as the Rochester Phil Harmonic (RPO) volunteer coordinator, office assistant, and Rear Guard, and as an assistant to the director of the Alternatives for Battered Women, now known as the Willow Domestic Violence Center. Marcia’s greatest passion, beyond her family, was constantly learning – she was an avid reader and collector of books, both fiction and non-fiction, and loved to consult her huge dictionary to learn any new words from those books. She was also a lifelong enthusiastic fan of the Buffalo Bills NFL team – she never stopped “Billieving” in their potential to achieve a Superbowl win.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Physician’s Assistants, Nurses and staff at the Strong Memorial Hospital ICU for their extraordinary care and compassion for our beloved Marcia, and her family members, in her final hours. Also, thank you to the members of the Rochester Breathe Easy support group for bringing her peace in the answers she found with you.
Donations may be made to the Henrietta Public Library, 625 Calkins Road, Rochester, NY 14623, in Marcia’s memory. The family will hold a private celebration of life for Marcia in the fall, at her final resting place.
