Margaret Mary Bernadette Hefner passed away peacefully on November 11, 2022 supported by family to her final resting place in Heaven.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents Herman & Isabell Berthold, brothers Herman & Gerald Berthold, and sister Mary Becker.
She is survived by her sister Eleanor Kirchoff, four children Lynn, Joey, Laurie, Kevin and 8 grandchildren.
Margaret “Marge” was born in Rochester NY, attended Mercy high school, she would go on to marry her husband Bob in 1954.
Our beautiful mom loved many things. She loved attending Our Lady of Mercy High School. She loved singing in the choir there, and loved to sing songs throughout her life. Anywhere! Anytime!
She loved volunteering her time along with my dad at the Lily Dale healing temple. As long as the season permitted, roses and other flowers were lovingly placed weekly in the temple straight from their garden! She was also honored in giving healings in the temple.
Our mom cared about everyone and had a beautiful smile that brightened up the room! She had a greeting for everyone. We were used to hearing her concerningly ask strangers on a cold winters day: where is your hat? Where are your gloves? You’re going to catch a cold!
Mom absolutely loved the Mother Mary. She loved to sing and talk about her!
She also was adept at clipping and using grocery coupons. She won a Rochester coupon clipping contest and was shown on TV as the winner!
Most of all, our Mom loved her children, their spouses, grandchildren, her husband and her extended family very, very much. She asked about them often.
She was a beautiful shining star and will be greatly missed by all of us.
The family extends its greatest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care provided her by all the staff at Unity Villages over the last 5 years, and Unity hospital in the final days.
