Marilyn Diana York Montana (February 1, 1944 – November 18, 2023)
Marilyn Diana York Montana, a cherished partner, devoted mother, and doting grandmother to all, passed away on November 18, 2023. Marilyn’s zest for life, her love for travel, and her devotion to family will be forever remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her adventures took her far and wide, creating memories and experiences that she held close to her heart.
Born on February 1, 1944, to Woodrow and Anna York, Marilyn lived a life enriched by her passion for exploring new horizons. She is survived by siblings, Shirley (Floyd) Hanselman, Donald (Jessie) York , David (Judy) York, and Barbara (Pat) Hahnel-Gabrielli (predeceased). As Aunt Marilyn, she was a source of joy and entertainment in their children’s lives.
Marilyn is survived by her partner, Richard Bagley, who shared in her life’s adventures and brought immense happiness into her world. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Rachelle (Marc) Palmaffy (predeceased), Karen (Chris) Schaeffer, Stephanie (John) Merkel, Philip (Kerri) Montana, Melissa (Gary O’Neal) Montana, and Derrick Montana. Her nine grandchildren were a source of immeasurable joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.
It was Marilyn’s wish to have family and friends celebrate her life in their own personal way and have her ashes scattered in Monument Valley. A special place she and Richard visited often.
