d. November 12, 2022

AVON, NY: Passed away peacefully on November 12, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Marjorie is predeceased by her husband of 73 years, John; brother, Donald Thomasson; brother in law, Donald Vershay and nephew, Scott Vershay. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen (Marty) Flickner; grandchildren, Chelsee Stefaniak and Brandan Flickner; great grandchildren, Madelynn Flickner and Avery Stefaniak.

Marjorie was blessed with a long, fulfilling life of love and friendships.

Anyone that knew her would say she was the sweetest, most kindhearted person they knew. She would greet anyone with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She cherished her family and friends.

Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Avon and graduated from Avon Central School. After a few jobs, she found her calling as a teller at Marine Midland/HSBC in Avon where she worked for 43 years and enjoyed all her customers. She loved camping and traveling to Canada to visit relatives. Church was a big part of her life. She belonged to the United Methodist Church of Avon since she was a little girl. She loved volunteering for anything going on at the church.

A special thanks goes out to all the people who touched Marjorie’s life. Most recently, the caregivers who took care of her while she was at home and all the staff at the Avon Nursing Home who cared for her the last year of her life.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Avon United Methodist Church.

A Celebration of Life will be at the Avon United Methodist Church on January 21, 2023 at 10am.
