Maurice F Durning

Maurice F Durning, age 92, passed away on March 2, 2025 in Rochester, NY. Maurie is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Arline. He is survived by his daughter, Alicia (William) Baum; grand-daughter, Teresa Strout; brother, Paul (Lois) Durning; and 3 nephews.

Maurie loved to bowl and golf, he was in various leagues in both sports over the years. He enjoyed playing cards and was always ready for a game of Racko. He and Arline spent family summers exploring the US and Canada in their trailer and later in life they especially liked relaxing on a cruise ship visiting the Caribbean and Europe.

Maurie received an BS in Chemical Engineering at the University of Idaho, an MS at the University of Illinois and an MBA at the University of Rochester. He worked as an engineer and manager at Eastman Kodak and retired after 31 years. He holds 2 patents.

Maurie actively served in the Army for two years as a chemical engineer and completed his service in the National Guard.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:45 am on Friday, March 14th at St. Rita’s Church in Webster, NY. The mass will also be live streamed at https://saintritawebster.org/watch-live.html.
