Henrietta, NY: Animal lover, harmonica player and well-loved by all, Mike’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. Mike, a 42 year cancer survivor, passed away on December 22, 2021, after many years of battling and managing the side effects of that cancer cure. He lives on in all of us he left behind; his spouse, his children, friends and anyone wearing Steelers attire on the street.
We are confident that he is now reunited with his parents, relatives and his dogs that were the center of his life. He leaves behind his immediate family; loving spouse, Abby, his children; Christina Redding, Michael (Katie) Knorr, Andrew (Bridget) Sardone, Keith Sardone, Timothy (Lauren) Uschold. In addition, he was proud to be a grandparent of Emma and Sean. He also lives in the hearts of his sister, Barbara Jean Linder, and her children, Tammy and Theresa Linder, Loralee (Adam) Leisenring and many wonderful great nieces and nephews.
Mike was a natural born helper, volunteering with Lakeshore Fire Dept as a young person, American Red Cross Disaster Action and mostly recently, Mended Hearts. Retired from the American Red Cross, Mike continued to cultivate those relationships and build new with all people he encountered.
There will be a private interment at Ascension Gardens in Henrietta with a Celebration of Life planned for the Spring of 2022. In lieu of flowers, please honor him with a donation to your favorite animal rescue association.
