Rochester, NY: Nancy Richards passed January 5, 2020 at the age of 82. Her cherished family and friends were by her side. She is predeceased by parents Helen and Joseph Richards of Hudson, NY. Nancy is survived by her daughters Stacy Youst Sillen, Shawna Sannier (Adrian), Liesl Dineen (John) and her grandchildren Savannah, Andy, Sean, Ben and Sarah. She is also survived by Lorie Seagren her partner in life for over 47 years. All loved beyond measure.
After completing a BA degree from SUNY Albany and a MS degree from Michigan State University, she continued a career as an English teacher and as a guidance counselor for over 25 years with the Rochester City School District.
After her retirement she became involved with photography which she pursued passionately. As a member of American Association of University Women, she worked tirelessly on the newsletter and the Art Forum.
In addition to photographing family events extensively, she found photography to be the medium which blended her story telling ability with her images. This resulted in creating a family motto, “If there are no photographs, it didn’t happen.”
