Penfield, NY – April 19th, 2023 at age 93 . Paul is predeceased by son Randolph Wayne; parents Gilbert and Iva Neal; and siblings Wesley, Oren, Jack, and Donald. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Barbara; sister Beverly (Neal) Martin; daughters Karen Neal (Peter Martino) and Teresa (Bruce) Kielar; grandchildren Peter Lewis (Greer) Martino, Mary Rachel Kielar, and Hanna Lea Kielar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul served in the Marines during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant, weapons training instructor at Paris Island. Paul loved the outdoors and all that came with it — whether it was canoeing along the Allagash, picking wild blueberries in Maine, or building the best campfires, he always felt at home in the wilderness. When he wasn’t in nature, he was busy tinkering with something, making jewelry or woodworking, and over the last few years catching up with family on Facebook.
He loved fiercely, and was affectionately known to many relatives and strangers as “Grampie.” We will miss him every time we see a Bonanza rerun, hear Merle Haggard croon, and eat fresh string beans in milk.
