Rochester, NY: December 20, 2020 – Beloved Rochester native Samuel J. D’Angelo passed away at the age of 90 on December 20, 2020. He is survived by his brother Prisco D’Angelo; his three children: Nancy Callinan (Leonard Barber), Susan Hooper (Scott Hooper), and son, John D’Angelo; as well as his six granddaughters: Sara, Maria, Lisa, Tracy, Kate and Monica, and grandson Maxwell. Sister-in-law: Mary D’Angelo. He has many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary D’Angelo, brother, Anthony D’Angelo, and sisters, Vera Tiberio and Rosemary Gallo as well as many extended family members.
In addition to being a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Sam served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a retiree from the Xerox Corporation. Sam had many hobbies and interests. He is remembered as a huge fan of the New York Yankees, and the Rochester Redwings. In his spare time, he enjoyed feeding God’s birds every day at local parks throughout his community.
Family members said throughout his entire life, Sam was passionate about helping people and supporting local charities and civic organizations. He was well loved by all, and everyone who met him immediately fell in love with his giving spirit and jovial personality. His easy-going and comforting nature will be greatly missed by all.
