After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, Tracey Lucia Intorcia died May 9, 2023, at her home in Brighton, N.Y. She was 52.
Born June 2, 1970, in Miami to Joseph and Barbara Intorcia, Tracey’s childhood was an endless summer of swimming pools and palm trees. She graduated Miami Southridge High School in 1988 and earned a communications degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1992. Buoyed by the 1990s tech boom, she pursued a marketing career with various software companies and internet providers. In 2012, having grown weary of the corporate world, she chose to freelance, which left more time for her two young children.
Those who knew Tracey, almost invariably, will mention three characteristics that set her apart: a passion for hospitality, a can-do attitude and a tremendous ability to listen and connect with others. All three talents combined to make a visit to her home an enjoyable, heartening experience that typically included a made-from-scratch pizza and countless cookies. The consummate hostess, she loved being with family and friends and, true to her Italian heritage, the love was palpable in her food.
She’s survived by her husband, Jason Cottrell, daughter Regan Cottrell, son Sebastian Cottrell, her mother Barbara, her brother Trent Intorcia, sister-in-law Amy Intorcia, sister Tiffany Intorcia, nephews Joey and Brian Intorcia, niece Sami Intorcia and many aunts, uncles and cousins whom she counted among her best friends. She was predeceased by her father Joe and brothers Todd and Patrick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 3 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Brighton.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. ( https://ocrahope.org )
