Valery Verenko of Mount Morris, NY passed peacefully into the arms of His Lord with his loving wife at his side on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020 at age 76 following a short illness. Valery was born on April 2, 1944 the son of Ivan Danilovich and Aleksandra Terentyevna Verenko in Pyatigorsk, Stavropol Krai, Russia.
While in Russia, Valery was a USSR Army Sergeant. Later with his college degree, Valery was an ichthyologist engineer on board a Russian research vessel studying fish throughout the world. Currently, Valery was an employee of the Cleaning Service Center and worked at the Wegmans store in Geneseo, NY.
Valery is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lidia. Also survived by his daughter Oxana Verenko and husband Aleksandr Bobrov ,along with the joys of Valery’s life: grandson Rodin Verenko, grandaughter Esenia Verenko and grandson Gregory Bobrov.
In 2014, through hard work and perseverance Valery became a proud citizen of the United States of America.
Valery will be remembered as a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather. Valery’s spontaneous smile will be sadly missed by many dear friends he met along the path of life.
There will be no prior calling hours. A private internment will be held at the discretion of the family. A memorial celebration of the life of Valery will be held at a later date.
