Mrs. Zelma Phillips was born on March 21, 1945 in Lyons, Georgia, daughter of James Kelly and Louise (George) Williams.  She attended and graduated from Franklin High School.  She met the late Robert Lee. Phillips, and married him on June 7, 1975 and out of this union they were blessed with one daughter.  Zelma graduated from Bryant & Stratton in 1994. She was also enlisted in the army reserved for 10 years.  She held several jobs, including Nagle, medical secretary at Strong Memorial Hospital, and St. Ann’s where she retired from.  In 2000 Zelma took custody of her great-niece April McPherson and in 2002, she took custody of her sister, Janja Williams-Phillips.  Zelma enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, interior designing of her own home and gardening.  She loved to laugh and would cause all in her company to laugh with her.  Zelma was predeceased by her husband, Robert; parents, James Kelly William and Louise George Williams; sisters, Marvia Gaffney, Peggy Jean Lundy, and Chinesta McLeod.  Zelma departed this life May 5, 2017 in Rochester, NY.  She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children: Lysah Bagley, April McPherson and Janja William-Phillips; three sisters: Dorothy Collins, Francenia Banks and Gail McPherson, and one brother: Gary Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her Visitation will be held Monday, May 15th 11 AM-12 Noon at Riverside Cemetery, Chapel of Peace, 2650 Lake Avenue.  Her Service will follow at 12 Noon .
