Albert P. Johnson

Albert Johnson - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, NY:  April 29, 2019. Albert P. Johnson was born on November 4, 1927 to parents Clara Maclin and Diddler Thompson in Mason, TN. He departed on April 29, 2019 while resting peacefully in his home. Albert was preceded in death by his father at a young age and was then raised by his step father Joe Johnson. Although Albert was an only child he had lots of cousins that were like his siblings. He played basketball and graduated from John Harris High School, in Harrisburg, PA. In September of 1951, Albert was drafted into the Army where he served as a paratrooper until March 25 of 1953. During that time, Albert met and married his loving wife Laura Wigington on August 9, 1952 whom he remained married to until his death. Together he and Laura had two children, Malinda C. A. Johnson and Avery P. Johnson born in Buffalo, New York. After his time in the military, Albert worked as a construction worker until his retirement. Albert was baptized in 1957 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained dedicated to Jehovah until his death. A few years after his children were born, Albert moved his family from Buffalo to Rochester, NY where he remained a resident. Albert’s favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He always had a smile on his face even if he wasn’t having a good day and was a kind and loving man. He is still with us in our hearts, in our minds, and in our memories as well as Jehovah’s, and he will always be.

Albert is survived by his wife, Laura Johnson, his two children, his two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Albert was cremated and will be laid to rest in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, New York on May 10, 2019.
