I had the pleasure of knowing Al for many years. He was a wonderful friend!! Al was the sweetest, kindest man I have ever known. His smile was infectious. He is now in a better place with no more pain, suffering. My heart goes out to Meta and family during this very difficult time. Keeping you in my warmest thoughts as you navigate this difficult time. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs.
I met Al in the 70’s and loved hearing him play throughout the Rochester area. He even played at my 75th birthday party! I am going to miss his smile and his personality. He was just a wonderful man and I am honored to have called him my friend. He is unforgetable and will truly be missed.
Al was a great friend, and one of the finest and most swinging musician I have ever known. I had the great pleasure of performing hundreds of gigs with Al, and I’m very sad that there won’t be any more.
So sorry to hear of Al’s passing. He was truly a great person and musician! He was one of my father’s closest friends. I know they are in heaven together. Condolences to Meta and the family.
I had the pleasure of knowing Al and playing music with him back in the 70s. A great bass player and a great guy that I’ll always remember as a big influence on me. He had such a positive outlook on life I can’t help but think the world is less well off without him. My deepest sympathy to Meta and family.
