Amelia (Zazzara) Kinzie

Amelia (Zazzara) Kinzie - Lafayette, NY - Rochester Cremation

Amelia (Zazzara) Kinzie, 69, of Lafayette passed away on May 9, 2020, at Strong Memorial Hospital with her son Ryan and boyfriend George by her side, with loving family close by.  She was born to the late Joseph and Lucretia (Parrotti) Zazzara and was raised in Syracuse.  She graduated from Nottingham High School and worked for the phone company until her retirement.

Amelia always lived her life with care and compassion for others.  She was a free spirit with a great strength of character who brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her.  She loved to cook and bake, and everyone loved to be the recipients of her meals and treats.  Amelia volunteered at the local VFW with a great sense of duty and pride.  Her greatest joy, however, was her son and his family.  Her three granddaughters became her daily passion.  Amelia was a loving daughter, a proud mother, a doting grandmother, a special sibling, a thoughtful friend and true companion.  She will be missed so much by all who knew her.

Amelia leaves behind her son Ryan (Meghan) Kinzie, three granddaughters (Isabelle, Madison, and Juliana Kinzie), her sister Francine (Dan) Zazzara-Monti, her brother Graziano (Sharon) Zazzara, her boyfriend of 25 years George Busco, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be announced at a later time.

I loved Amelia beyond words! I am just so sorry we lost touch with each other over the last couple years! She was the kindest, sweetest person ever who would do anything for a friend! We could talk forever to each other about our kids and grand kids! She was president of the VFW for years and she could never do enough for the troops over seas! My heart breaks for Ryan and his family and for George! She will truly be missed but I will see her on the other side someday! Much love to you my dear friend! <3!

I will always remember my cousin Amelia as such a bright spirit that lit up the room. We were closer when I was small and lived in Dewitt and I always remember her always smiling and laughing. She had such a great sense of humor and always so entertaining! She had such a loving spirit! God bless her family as I know she will be missed terribly. A light has dimmed here on Earth but Heaven gained another Angel and now she’s home with her mom and dad. My condolences to the family.

Mimi was a part of my life since I was a baby. She was more than our next door neighbor she was our family, a 2nd mom. I would walk down the hill with my mom and hang out with them. She would always be baking… at Christmas there wasn’t an inch of table that didn’t have Italian cookies on it. Me and Mimi were the two SHORT Italians of sky high rd… with the same shoe size… if there was a chorus recital or any time … Mimi would pull out HUNDREDS of shoes and let me barrow anything I needed. Her dog Jazzy was my Finnagin’s “ girlfriend”.. if we couldn’t find him we would head to Mimi’s and sure enough he was there with them… just hanging out. Mimi was such a wonderful woman I will be always loved and missed.

    Frannie
I spent a lot of time with your family growing up. So many
fun times. Your sister would just give me a look and I knew
I better stop whatever I was doing.
I love you like a sister and I know you are hurting,. We have shared many important moments in our lives together. Good & bad. I am sorry I can’t be with you at this time. Believe me I would if I could.
Amelia is at peace, and for that I am happy.
I met Ryan maybe once or twice, he sounds like a wonderful son & nephew.
Love is all around you, please embrace it because Amelia has just left the building but she is everywhere.
    Take care
    All our love
    Debbie & Bill
