Rochester NY:  Andrew Charles “Drew” Winser, né Szczechowicz, died March 18, 2021 at 60 years of age, from long term neurological complications of HIV/AIDS.

Born June 22, 1960 in Washington, D.C., Drew was raised in Massachusetts and Florida.  He graduated Nathan B. Forrest (now Westside) High School in Jacksonville, Fla., and earned a Bachelor of Arts in literature and communications from the University of North Florida in 1988.

Returning to Massachusetts, he pursued a professional career in Boston, as a vocational counselor, and then as travel agent.  In 1990, he met his future husband, whom he married in 2004.

Drew loved cooking, dining, singing, and gardening.  He lovingly cared for the pet cats and dogs.  He was a voracious reader, loved movies, and the Oscars™.  Travels abroad gave him many fond memories, especially of Paris and Venice.  He loved boating and fishing, especially on the ocean.  He was drawn to the theatre, acting and singing in productions since a teenager, and directed several as well.

He is survived by his devoted husband, (George) Patrick Dill of Rochester, his beloved aunt Pat Beatty of Billerica, Mass., and numerous members of his extended family of relatives, in laws, and friends.

Donations in his memory to amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, www.amfar.org, are deeply appreciated.
