Angelo A. Zegarelli

Angelo A. Zegarelli - Greece, NY - Rochester Cremation

Greece, NY:  Died peacefully surrounded by family on January 25, 2022 at age 64. Predeceased by his father, Domenico Zegarelli, in-laws Leon and Alfreda Weise, infant son James Joseph and unborn child Regina Grace. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Eileen; children, Daniel (Stacie) Zegarelli, Ryan (Renee) Zegarelli, Kristen (Craig) Muir; grandchildren, Emilia, Cora, & Nina Zegarelli; Vivian, Vincent, Roman & Baby Zegarelli; Rita, Evelyn, & Henry Muir; mother, Assunta Zegarelli; sisters Mary (Chris) Dye, Cathy (John) Pilskalns, Susan (Brian) Nudd; brother-in-law Tom (Nancy) Weise; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Angelo was an Irondequoit High School graduate, and proud Eastman Kodak employee of over 36 years in Roll Coating Quality Control. He spent several years at Cintas as the Warehouse Manager until his retirement in 2019. His work perfectly matched his personality traits of systematic organization and attention to detail; labeling anything and everything in his path. These habits were balanced by silly antics, always making people laugh. He was an usher and 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council at St. John the Evangelist Church. He was an exemplary Catholic man, handyman and friend, but his greatest titles were husband, father and Papa, spending all of his time, love and attention with his family.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at Rochester Cremation, 1118 Long Pond Rd (South of Maiden Lane), Rochester 14626. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10:00am, St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 West Ridge Road, Greece, NY 14626. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ange’s honor to the Margaret Home of Rochester at themargarethome.com or to St. John the Evangelist Church-Greece.

Ran into Ange less than a year ago and had the chance to reminisce, laugh and share conversation. He spoke proudly of his family, whom I am sure are grieving at this time. It’s never easy but on a personal level this one hits particularly hard as Ange and I worked together frequently throughout the years.

Friends and family please allow yourselves to grieve properly so that the healing may begin…God bless Ange and his entire family whom he loved dearly.

We moved in our neighborhood around the same time as Ange and Eileen did, approx 36 years ago. We couldn’t have asked for nicer neighbors. The whole family are just really nice respectful people.
Ange was a great family man always doing things with his Kids and Grandkids, a very tight-knit family. I would see Ange working in the yard quite often and we would stop and talk from home repairs to the Buffalo Bills. Ange was a true Bills fan thru and thru. We still are in total shock over this whole thing and Ange will really be missed.
Our Prays and thoughts are with Eileen and the entire Family through these very difficult times. May God give you strength. Love Paul and Linda

Shocked and saddened by the loss of my good longtime friend Ange. Ange and I met when I moved to West Irondequoit in 2nd grade as we became best friends!! I attended college with Eileen at St John Fisher. I had the honor and pleasure of being best man in Ange & Eileen’s wedding. Ange was a great family man and an overall great guy who had a great love of life and wonderful sense of humor. Ange and I often enjoyed camping together years ago up at the 1000 Islands; many great times and crazy memories. One of many enjoyable memories of Ange were the competitive dodge ball games back in 4th grade at Brookview where we both led our classes in these “classic”, competitive events. Ange was a very good overall athlete.
My thoughts and prayers are with Eileen and Family. Our condolences …
    Love Tom & Donna

The news of your passing has left a huge hole in my heart. I can not wrap my head around this loss for your wife, children, and grand children. You became a great friend of mine while we have ushered together for several years at St.. John’s. Always showing compassion to every parishioner that entered. In addition to your very geniune concern about me, my family, and businesses. Our church has lost a great Catholic and heaven has gained and angel!

Ange and Eileen were very close friends of my parents, Nick and Joyce Lippa. They were so close they were like family to them. I have never known such kind and loving people. Ange (and Eileen) always went out of their way for my parents. After my Mom passed away they were like guardian angels always watching out for my Dad. He was truly blessed to have Ange and Eileen in his life.
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Ange. My heart goes out to the Zegarelli family. I hope all the wonderful memories you have can bring some peace to your broken hearts. I will continue to pray for the entire family. My deepest sympathy and love ❤️
