Anne Majewski Wells

Anne Wells - Rochester Cremation

Time is not the measure of a life – though I think we all want the most time possible with the people we love. I’ve made a small but beautiful life, focusing on family, friends, laughter, curiosity, personal growth, and trying to be a source of goodness in the world.

I’ve been wrapped in support and love, Bob’s and yours, especially in the last months. It’s made a difference and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.

Let little things remind you, and think of me when I’m gone. Be kind to each other, and be kind to yourselves. I love you.

Good bye.

Anne passed away after an eight year fight with metastatic breast cancer on October 27, 2022 at the age of 63. Anne was predeceased by her father, Robert Majewski, and her mother Elizabeth Lind. Anne is survived by her husband, Robert; children Claire and Rachel Wells; siblings Kathleen Majewski, Steven Majewski, and Barbara Hunt; as well as many other family members.

We would like to thank the family and friends who have aided and supported Anne throughout the last eight years, as well as her wonderful care team at Pluta Cancer Center and Wilmot Cancer Institute.

Very sad but a heroic run. I remember the old opera board meetings together.

Rare and fine classical music, great reads, creative thinking, gentleness and grace in challenging situations, alongside determination and a strong sense of fairness and honesty are among the long list of lovely traits Anne drew from to define her character – so top shelf. I try not to mourn too deeply but rather to allow the memories of our shared experiences to keep me smiling. With love for Bob, the girls and everyone who will miss her.

I keep reading what she wrote and laughing and crying at how perfect it is. “What would Anne Wells do?” She would write a perfect obituary note to offer love, healing and perspective to those who grieve the loss of her. Thank you for that Anne Wells. even in your passing, you are thoughtful and articulate. You were and always will be a bright and guiding star. Sending a constant line of love to Bob, Claire and Wells. Can’t wait to hug you all.

I feel very fortunate to have known and worked with Anne at HSE. She was one of the most positive humans I’ve ever met. Always thoughtful, caring, kind, fun, witty, generous. The list could go on and on. She had a bright spirit that this world needs more of. Grateful for the light she gave while here. She will be missed tremendously. I must say, the note she left for all of us is wonderful, special, and perfectly ANNE. My prayers and sincere condolences to Bob, Claire and Wells. Thank you for sharing her with us. Rest in Peace, Anne. You are truly a gem.

My condolences at your loss. I shared wonderful moments with Anne in our small group ministry long ago at First Universalist. I’ve read thru all the comments about Anne in the remembrances above and could not think of anything more to add. Anne was awesome.
