Anne Wilson Yard, 85, of Pittsford, NY passed away July 25, 2017 with her family by her side.

She was born in Monroe, NC to the late Henry Hall Wilson and Annie Sanders Wilson on January 29, 1932. Anne graduated from the Monroe public schools and received her BA in Economics from Duke University in 1954. After graduation, Anne worked as an investment analyst at State Planners Bank and Trust in Richmond, VA. During that time she met Allan S. Yard, who was on the faculty at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Anne and Allan married in 1957. They moved to Upper Montclair, NJ and raised a family. Anne was very involved in the Far Brook School in Short Hills, NJ where their two daughters attended. She served on the Board of Trustees and  became president in the 1970s. Anne also donated her time to a foster child program, a division of social services in Newark, NJ.

Anne was an accomplished golfer, winning the 1986 Ladies Club Championship at Rock Spring Club in West Orange, NJ. She and Allan often played in mixed matches and enjoyed playing golf with friends in Bermuda and at golf courses around the country. In 1993 they retired to Hilton Head, SC where they were able to enjoy year-round golf. Recently, Anne and Allan moved to The Highlands of Pittsford to be closer to family.  Anne loved tending her beautiful roses and sharing the blooms with friends and neighbors. Dogs especially brought joy to Anne. She had many terriers throughout her life. Anne loved playing bridge and reading. She was also an avid Sudoku and crossword puzzler.

Anne is predeceased by her parents and two brothers Henry Hall Wilson Jr. and John S. Wilson. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Allan, their two daughters, Rebecca Questad (Mark Questad) of Alexandria, VA; Roslyn Cassano (Vince Cassano) of Pittsford, NY; and four grandchildren: Claire Questad, Carl Questad, Riesa Cassano and Cole Cassano and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice – Visiting Nurse Services of Rochester, NY.
