Anthony S. Merlino

Spencerport, NY:  April 22, 2019.  Anthony Samuel Merlino reunited in heaven with his bride of 63 years, Patricia Merlino. A hero to his family, he served in WWII, Pattons 3rd Army, receiving 2 Bronze stars. After the war he went to Columbia University. He taught in the Rochester City School District for over 30 years which culminated into Athletic Dept head at John Marshall High School. He was an avid golfer sharing residence between Spencerport NY and Arizona.

His greatest joy and overwhelming love was for his children; Mark Merlino (Lynda), Kathleen Mulford (Bob), Linda Woodward (Eddie), Steven Merlino, and Predeceased daughter Susan Merlino. His grandchildren, Blake Woodward (Lauren), Brett Woodward (Amelia), Jason Woodward (Melissa), Alexis Woodward, Chelsey Merlino, Matthew Mulford (Kayla), Madison Guckian. Great Grandchildren, Avia Woodward, Brett Jr Woodward, Sequoia Woodward and Clementine Woodward.

    Hello, I send my condolences about your father. I just saw this when looking for Sue, who was my roommate at Valley Forge Christian College 1979-80. I had lost touch with her and did not know she had passed away. I’m so sorry. Please email me if you are willing. God bless.

    I’m very sorry for your loss. I remember playing golf with you Mark and you father. Your father was a good person. in fact, your entire family was really good!!
