In loving memory of AUGUSTINE (Gussie) SCHUG
April 16, 1953 – June 28, 2023
Augustine E. (Novo) Schug passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 28th, 2023. Augustine is predeceased by her parents Evelyn F. (Fitzgerald) Novo, and Joseph P. Novo. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn.
She was born in Massapequa, Long Island and traveled extensively throughout her life; living in Cuba, India, Germany, California, and Michigan before finally resetting her roots in Rochester, NY. An avid reader; Gussie loved all books, but mostly historical and works of fiction. She beta read unreleased works of literature and provided authors with feed back before publication. Her favorite way to pass time was with a hot cup of tea and a good read.
Gussie worked in medical administration at Rochester General before her early retirement. She will be remembered for her humor, straight-forwardness, faith and kindness. Her three legged cat ‘Lovie’ was dear to her heart, and brought her and others who visited great joy.
Gussie is a veteran of the United States Army.
