David and the entire Ackroyd Family trying to express in words what Barb meant to us is next to impossible. Our friendship spans several years and the memories from those years are what will keep her Spirit within us. Please accept our deepest, Sincere Sympathy. In walked an Angel when those Heavenly gates opened.π
Dave, Beth, Ellyn, and Jeff,
I am so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing. It was a joy getting to know the Ackroyd family; first as a student of yours, Dave, at Eastridge, and then as Jeff’s second grade teacher in Fairport. May the wonderful memories of a life well-lived be a testament of Barb’s love and devotion to you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.π
Our sincere sympathies on the death of Barbara. Will never forget the number of “hellos” and conversations at Friday night pops concerts, followed by beverages and conversations across the street from the Eastman with mutual good friends Jan and John Hecker. Dave particularly, lots of very good water over the dam in the number of years that we (Bob) have known each other from Sunday school at Salem Church with Jan through volunteeer work with the RPO lead by Marilyn Merrigan. Blessings to you and your family. Will try to make the Memorial Service on Saturday. Bob Gabbey
Our sincere condolences to the entire Ackroyd family. Rick and Jennifer Altier
So very sorry for the loss of such an Amazing woman.
Condolences, Flynn & Brian
A dark haired, sweet faced woman said “I know you from church” and mentioned her name. Of course, Barb Akroyd, I realized, as I was in shock. She bandaged my forehead and kept my daughter Tracey awake as we rode to the hospital in an ambulance. She was kind, calm and efficient—just the right person to show up at that moment . Thank you Ackroyd family for sharing your angel personified with us and who knows how many others during her lifetime. You’ve earned your rest in peace Barb. Enjoy.
