Barbara “Bubbie” Davis (Masseth)

Flowers - Simple Cremation - Rochester Cremation - Rochester, New York

Pittsford, NY:  Long time Geneseo resident.  Passed away on May 27, 2019 at age 95.  Predeceased by husband Harold.  She is survived by her “adorable” nieces and nephews.  Those who knew her will forever remember her sense of humor.  Her faith and love of music brought her comfort through the years of living with Alzheimer’s disease.  Thanks to the “kiddos” at Brookdale of Pittsford for her care.  No prior calling, private burial.

    !Hello Adorable Nieces and Nephews,
I wish I could join you to share our Bubbie stories. I have missed her ever since I moved to Florida. She had such a positive effect on my life that made me appreciate music and art. I am glad that I let her know this when I had my last visit. I will need to take more time to write my thoughts later. My thoughts and love are with you all.

I recently found some Masseth Dairy bottles that were given to me by Ben Masseth when I was a boy. I grew up a few houses down, and used to hang around doing little odd jobs for Ben, Helen, and Grace. I do remember Ed and Gene as well. One day he took me into the old dairy and showed me all around and how it used to be. They were all very nice to me. Good memories.

I just saw this, and I’m so sorry. My mom (Florence C. Heveron) and I went to Geneseo to visit with Barbara when she was still living in her country home. I don’t know exactly what year this was, but I’m guessing it was around 2010 or so? (My mom died Jan. 3, 2015.) Barbara was so gracious and still remembered some things about Masseth Dairy on Maryland Street, in the city; she had had some time to spend there, around her uncles, as a child. I’m glad I had this time with her.

So sorry for your loss. My Mom (Kay Schiffhauer) always loved to visit Barbara. I remember talking family history with her. She was a sweet lady.
