Penfield NY: Beverly Mikel Kneessy (Bev) passed away peacefully on December 20, 2016. Bev was born on September 28th 1936 in Hilton, New York to Francis Frederick Mikel and Helen Marie Bush. Bev attended Potsdam State Teachers College in upstate New York and graduated with a degree in elementary school teaching. Bev had a lifelong passion for puzzles, reading and a fascination with U.S. history. She was a loyal member of her bridge group for more than fifty years and active in the Christ Episcopal Church of Pittsford for fifty-six years. Bev was also dedicated to her work with hospice writing more than 300 cards a month for many years. Bev lived with Late Onset Hereditary Dystal Myopathy, in her family for generations and was the oldest living survivor. Lovingly known as “Grandma B”, Bev is preceded in death by daughter Laurie (1961- 2002), survived by her sons Andrew (Mary), Chip (Alyson), and grandchildren Jack and Mya Kneessy, her sister Sally Borden and nephew Mike. She also leaves behind many cousins and lifelong friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring, 2017 at the Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, New York.
