Bradley Scott Mclaughlin, USMC

Bradley Scott Mclaughlin, USMC - Spencerport, NY - Rochester Cremation

Spencerport, New York: Bradley Scott Mclaughlin passed away in the early morning hours on July 5, 2022.  Brad, as he preferred to be called, was on active duty and present during the October 1983 attack on the Marine Headquarters in Lebanon.  For most of his life after, he battled with post-traumatic stress from his being present and the losses he experienced during that time in his life as a United States Marine.  Regardless, and perhaps because of this, Brad was extremely proud to have been a Marine and to have served his country during one of this country’s times of need.

Brad is predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Mclaughlin of Livonia Center, New York and his grandson Douglas Sciortino of Rochester, New York. Brad is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen L. Mclaughlin: his children, Matthew Mclaughlin (wife Savanah), Sarah (Mclaughlin) Lefrois (husband Richard), Johnny Mclaughlin, his 9 grandchildren, and great grandson ; Brad’s siblings; Colleen (Mclaughlin) VanDurme (husband Eric), MaryAnn (Mclaughlin) (husband Scott), Wendy (Mclaughlin) Monroe (husband Richard), and Bryan Mclaughlin (wife Molly), nieces, nephews; and friends.

In his earlier days, Brad enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, camping and reading.  He was a dog lover, who had many throughout his lifetime.  He took great pride in his lawn and most of all loved a cold beer and loud music.  Brad worked as a machinist in the Rochester New York area. Buell Automatics was his last place of employment due to a medical condition. Brad was a member of the American Legion Post 330. Brad was a beloved father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Bradley S. Mclaughlin will be held at Brockport Exempts, 248 West Main Street, Brockport New York 14420 on July 31, 2022 starting at 1 pm, with Military Honors conducted at 2 pm.
