Bruce A. Daranyi

Simple Cremation - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, NY:  It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Bruce Allen Daranyi at the age of 59 on June 18, 2020 due to natural causes.  Bruce was born on July 10, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio to Phyllis Rochford (Feezel) and John Charles Daranyi.  His parents as well as maternal uncle Bruce, precede him in eternal rest.

Bruce is survived by his beloved son, Andrew and his dear stepson Sean.  Mother of both sons, Ana, who is his ex is also left to cherish his memory.

Bruce is also survived by his siblings:  Don (Debra), Robin (Ed), Carl (Brenda) and Danielle; family members uncle John and aunt Sherry and uncle Lawrence, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and others whose lives he touched.  It is noted that his grand-niece, Melody was especially close to his heart.

In-laws that will dearly remember Bruce are Jesus (Yenny), Elena (Les) and grandmother to Andrew and Sean, Ana.  His father-in-law, Jose Olivares passed in 2012.

Bruce served his country for four years in the Navy.  Later, he was a stationary engineer at St. Mary’s Hospital and MCC.

Bruce was an avid fan of his sports teams from his home state of Ohio:  The Indians, The Browns, The Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.  His favorite pass-time was to watch games with his son Andrew.

Bruce’s hobbies included tending to his bonsais, and listening to a wide range of music.  He became somewhat of a computer expert.  He liked to sing and had a beautiful voice.  He enjoyed shopping and cooking.  As a young man he rode his motorcycle and later his M.G.

Bruce was a dedicated baseball, basketball and football Dad when his son Andrew participated in school sports.

Bruce was a sociable and sometimes gregarious individual who was full of life and basked in the spotlight.  His personality was like refracted light, changing in colors, angles and direction.  He was often intense.  He had favorite sayings:  “Don’t get me wrong.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.  It is what it is.”

Hardly a day went by without  him telling us he loved us.

We will miss you deeply Dad, stepdad, friend, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin.

Rest in peace knowing there is only love in our hearts for you.  Love everlasting.

So much more deserves to be said about my brother… We mourn the passing of Bruce “Butch” Daranyi. During his short 59 years on this earth, he was a loving father, son, uncle, brother. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Predeceased by his mother Phyllis (Feezel) Rochford and father, John Daranyi. He leaves behind his beloved son and best friend, Andrew Daranyi; two brothers Carl Rochford and Donn Russell; two sisters Robin Gaston and Danielle Rochford and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Ohio, he was a dedicated sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes (O-H). His loss will forever leave a hole in those whom he left behind.
