Carltrena M. Carter entered into eternal rest, surrounded by family on May 5th, 2024. Carltrena, more affectionately known as Tina, was the only child born to the late Carlton & Wynette Gordon on July 10th, 1950 in Cleveland, OH. Upon moving to Rochester, she attended Catholic school where she graduated from Nazareth Hall in 1968. After High school, Tina attended Monroe Community College and Rochester Business Institute where she received a degree in Business.
Tina worked for the Xerox Corporation for 25+ years, then moved on to work for Rochester City School District and St. John’s Meadow’s where she was the Transportation Coordinator for almost 15 years before retiring in 2014.
Tina enjoyed many hobbies, but traveling was her favorite! She loved to drive anywhere for a road trip while playing smooth Jazz or Gospel music.
Tina was a true servant of the Lord and deeply devoted to her church. She sang in the Adult Choir, was apart of the soup kitchen ministry & Women’s Ministry (WH&OMS/Life Members) as well as serving in many other capacities at Memorial AME Zion Church.
Carltrena leaves behind 2 children Melinda Carter & John Carter of Rochester, NY. 4 Grandchildren; Aline Carter, Aliyah Carter, Enoch Cray & Jordyn Carter of Rochester, NY. 8 First Cousins; Donald Rector(Jackie) of Rochester, Wyman Rector of Rochester, Olivia Paul(James) of Utica, NY, Pamela Alexander of Rochester, NY, Daryl Wilson(Roger) of Houston, TX, Kenneth Gordon of Denver, CO, Hilda Singleton(Rickey) of Brockport, NY & Helen Campbell(Wayne) of Rochester, NY and a host of other relatives and friends.
