Webster NY: Carol Anne Vogel died peacefully on July 25th at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Harold and Mary Ellen Vogel, as well as her two brothers Buddy (Mary) and Joey. Carol is survived by her children Ron (Sue Thomson) Kowach, Joe (Bertha) Kowach, Caroline (Greg) Miller, and Andrew Kowach; grandchildren Ryan, Sean, and Megan Miller, Andrew Kowach; her nephews Joe (Karen) Vogel and Michael (Rebecca) Vogel; great-nieces Tani and Macie Vogel; and many beloved friends.
Carol was passionate about many things; the Adirondacks (hiking, canoeing, camping); Santa Fe (the mountains, artwork, and Native American culture); being a Hospice nurse and caring for those in need; going on adventures (whitewater rafting down the Grand Canyon, Lama treks, exploring national parks, and so many more adventures), walking and hiking with her beloved dog Annie; and of course spending time with her family and friends.
All who knew her were witness to her strength and good nature during her courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease for the last 15 years of her life. Her determination to remain strong and independent will leave a lasting impression. The family would like to especially thank the Hospice staff at the Leo Center of Caring for their immense compassion and loving care during her final days.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Carol’s life at her Memorial Mass Friday, July 29 at 2 p.m. at St. Ann’s Chapel, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leo Center for Caring, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester NY 14621.
