Hilton, NY:  April 22, 2021.  Predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Pennell on July 24, 2012, Carol is survived by her three sons, Paul (Rose) of Ft. Wayne IN, Thomas (Vickey) of Branson MO, and John (Ann) of Hilton NY. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Matthew J., Sarah, Collin, and Matthew S.; her brother, Rev. Richard Martin; her two sisters-in-law, Faye Anderson and Mildred (James) McCurdy; and several nieces & nephews.

Carol was born in Corry, PA to Rev. Floyd and Lulu (McAlister) Martin.  She was a woman of faith who was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Her life’s work was as a wife and mother and in caring for others.  She lived her faith by leading Bible Studies in her community and providing support and help to those in need by driving to appointments, fixing meals or just listening.  She leaves a legacy for her family and friends of a life well lived.

A very special thank you to the staff of St. Ann’s Community Leo Center for Caring and Lifetime Care Hospice for providing warm, compassionate care to her and the family in Mom’s final days.  Mom was blessed by many special and close friends who have been very supportive during her life and her illness.  The family would like to thank all of you for your acts of kindness, cards, calls, and texts during this time and always.  You mean more to us than you could ever know.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in July in Pennsylvania with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund at Pearce Church, North Chili, NY (www.pearcechurch.org/giving) or St. Ann’s Community, Rochester, NY (www.stannscommunity.com/ways-to-give).
