Carrie Elizabeth Alexander

Rochester Cremation - Simple Cremation

Fairport NY: January 9, 2016 at age 56 after a heroic four and a half month battle with Cancer. Carrie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 29 years, Jeffrey Stephen Alexander and their daughters, Brittany Elizabeth and Courtney Stephen; siblings, Paula MacKay, Terry (Rodney) Butler, Todd (Sherry) McLaughlin; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Mildred McLaughlin and sister Sharon Donohue. Carrie graduated from Caledonia High School in 1977, starting her career as a beautician before dedicating herself as a full time mother to her loving daughters.  In the last 12 years, Carrie transitioned to becoming a fitness trainer specializing in kick boxing, core training and her latest passion for teaching aerobics to Seniors in the “Silver Sneakers” program.  Carrie often called “her Seniors” her adoptive family.  That love certainly went both ways between her and her students. Carrie especially loved her special times spent with her family and friends, especially with the 5th family member; their dog Oreo.  Carrie loved being outdoors and could often be found working in her garden or cruising on her John Deer riding mower!

On Saturday, January 16th @ 1:30, there will be a Celebration of Life at Fairport United Methodist Church, 31 West Church Street, in the Village of Fairport, followed by a brief reception.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Leo Center for Caring.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. May you find comfort in your loving memories of her and God’s promise that he will swallow up death forever and wipe away the tears from all faces. (Isaiah 25:8)
