Chuck Newell - Rochester Cremation

Rochester, NY – Charles (Chuck) Walter Newell passed away October 25, 2022 at the age of 74. Born in Hornell, NY on September 7, 1948, Chuck was the son of the late Ida Mae Newell and Merle Newell. He is predeceased by his brother James Alan Newell (1951) and his sister Ida Schmitz. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, his siblings Jerry (Mary) Newell of Clifton Park, NY, Merle Newell of Hornell, NY, and Betty (Wayne) Avery of Hornell, NY, and George Newell as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After attending Alfred State College, Chuck moved to Rochester, where he worked in the printing business. Check would then go on to start a delivery business and do deliveries for Leo Roth.

Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, downhill skiing, kayaking, bike riding, photography, and card and casino games. His love of gardening was enjoyed through flowers and vegetables.

For the last three years, Chuck had battled pancreatic cancer, but he never lost interest in life. The family is grateful for the care provided by SMH Rehab on 5-1200 and SMH Hospice. The doctors, nurses, and therapists gave excellent care.

Chuck will be missed by all that knew and loved him. A memorial service is scheduled for 12 PM, Saturday, November 5th at Spiritus Christi Church, located at 121 N. Fitzhugh St, Rochester, 14614.

    I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing, Marilyn. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time. My condolences to you, Betty. I m so sorry you lost your brother. I’m pretty sure you and I were classmates in Hornell. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.
