Charles E. Manning Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on October 1, 1947, in Clifton, Georgia. After completing high school, he served in the United States Army from 1966-1972. He then attended Ithaca College, earning his bachelor’s degree. He furthered his education by obtaining a master’s degree in social work.

Charles dedicated his career to helping others, utilizing his remarkable gift for guiding those through life’s challenges. He worked as a social worker at Strong Memorial Hospital Child & Adolescent Partial Program for over 20 years. He had an amazing way with the kids and made a difference in many, many lives.

Charles is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Darlene Manning, his devoted children and stepchildren: Kahil, Kuan, Keeli, James, Lauren (Adam), and Holly (Rich), his adored grandchildren: Robert, Tye, Kahil, Jamal, McKenna, Paige, and Hannah, his brothers, Carl Rolle (Diane) and Greg Rolle, and his beloved dog Rosie. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Jason, and sister Regina.

Charles was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed the beach and had a passion for reading and music. He always saw the good in others and lived life to the fullest. His kindness, warmth, and positive spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, from 1-4pm at Abraham Lincoln Park Lodge, 500 Smith Rd., Webster, NY 14580.

Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, purpose, and passion will forever live on.
