My condolences to Marsha and Anna. I greatly appreciate the fact that Charles hired me in 2002, enabling me to have a career in philosophy. We were colleagues for 11 years.
Charles truly cared for the well-being of our discipline, philosophy, and he worked hard to advocate on behalf of the department. He was also deeply committed to our students’ learning. I know he had a profound impact on a number of students.

Inez and I (and daughter Hilary) were neighbors, friends, and colleagues with Chuck, Marsha, and Anna in Oswego and enjoyed many meals, discussions, parenting talks, and parties with them. We are so sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing.
