Christopher Rexford Hill (56) passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 7, 2022 following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chris, born in Canandaigua, was the son of Jeannette and Leon “Bunker” Hill. He was the first boy of five children and he became the “man of the house” at age 11 following the sudden death of his father. He graduated from Canandaigua Academy and attended Buffalo State and D’Youville College before eventually taking a job as the Director of IT at the Hurlbut Care Communities where he was responsible for building and maintaining their computer network. He always felt he was lucky to have a job doing something he loved with a company that he thought of as family. Christopher’s free time was spent with family and friends: riding ATVs, playing computer games, watching movies, searching for treasures at yard sales and thrift shops (he always seemed to find the best bargains!), tinkering in his barn, cooking, dining out, and enjoying a good gin and tonic with friends. Chris will be remembered for being social, witty, and full of sarcasm, traits which stayed with him through his final months.
Christopher is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura (Ziemer), and son Clayton, his siblings Colleen (Scott Sober), Kathy, Kendra, and Kenneth, nephews and niece, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Livingston County Hospice or to Lollypop Farm. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
