Cynthia A. Moyer (Cindy)

Cynthia A. Moyer (Cindy) - Rochester, NY - Rochester Cremation-

Cynthia A. Moyer (Cindy), 66, born 3/13/1955 in Rochester, NY, was firstborn to Richard and Sandra Moyer and passed peacefully on Sunday 6/13/2021 in Rochester, NY.

Cindy grew up in Vestal, NY.  She was a diver on the swim team and a cheerleader in high school and enjoyed camping and skiing with family and friends.  She attended SUNY Brockport and earned her accounting degree.

In 1998, Cindy and her mom and sisters began the tradition of an annual girl’s weekend that lasted for 21 years.  It was precious family time.

She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in December of 2017 and retired in 2019, after a 28-year career in retail management at Lechmere, Filene’s, Macy’s & ToysRUs. Cindy was admired and awarded for her ability to manage and lead from the heart; a manager that people loved and respected.  She lived in New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Vermont, before moving to Rochester in 2010.  Back in Rochester with family, highlights were golf, playing games and family dinners.

Her outside garden and inside plants were her pleasure and her home was always a warm & cozy place, with pottery and other favorite mementos from places she lived or visited.  A gentle soul, kind and caring, Cindy always loved remembering family’s special occasions with the most thoughtful and funny cards.

Cindy is pre-deceased by her mother, Sandra Moyer, and survived by her father, Richard Moyer, sisters Cathy Kjellsen (Jim) and Joanne French (Steve), nephews & nieces, Andrew Kjellsen (Shannon & grand-niece Reese), Alex Kjellsen (Jaclyn), Lauren French (Collin), Emily French, Elizabeth (Kjellsen) Savage (Nowlan), Keith French, and her cat, Josie.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend and cat-mom, Cindy was so very special to everyone who knew her.

Cindy and I worked together for over five years at Lechmere Albany. We were hired together to help open that store and were commission sales people. Cindy was the best, the brightest and nicest person in the store and so helpful to me. I owe her more than I can express. Cindy was very special and finding out about her passing today hurts me deeply. I truly hope there is a heaven, Cindy deserves to be there!❤️
