Wolcott: May 30, 2015. Dave Gerling was the only child of Marcella Schwind and Russell Gerling. He grew up In Rochester and helped run and operate the family’s restaurant The Present Building Snack Bar. David worked at “The Gun Shop” on state street, worked 31 years at the USPS while there he taught firearm safety,and was a mail handler and obtained his Captain’s Certificate. David was a avid lifelong fisherman and hunter. He was joined in these pursuits by his wife Carol.
Survived by Carol Gerling, his wife of 25 years. Please in memory of David, teach the children in your family how to be safe boaters and responsible hunters. David believed strongly in everyone learning safe firearm handling.
There will be a private Celebration of Life at David’s home June 27, 2015, contact Carol for details.

Dave was such a kind person. I worked with him at the post office back in 1977.
