Greece NY: Doreen passed away on 12/30/2016 at 63 years of age at Unity Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 1953 to August and Jean (Busico) Fouquet, sisters Darlene and Rose. She is survived by her children Lynda Ewell, Jill (Jesse) St. John and Kelly (John) Ellsmore, grandchildren Jayson, Jeremy and Raina St. John and Lilyanna Ellsmore, and caring, devoted companion Eric Webster.
Doreen worked for many years at two local bakeries and as a newspaper carrier. She enjoyed sunshine, reading, being outdoors, walking the beach, hiking, dancing, cooking and searching out local festivals, concerts and community events to explore and enjoy. She appreciated the simple beauties of life: being up early enough to see the sunrise, deer grazing in the neighborhoods, the arrival of spring flowers. She was hardworking with an amazing work ethic and took pride in the things she did. She always kept busy, devoting many years to raising her daughters, particularly later in her life when her youngest, Kelly, was born, continually striving to support them, making sure they never went without. In the three years since she was diagnosed with cancer, she was able to experience many fulfilling ventures including a James Talyor concert, trips to the casino and a Caribbean cruise, thanks to Eric’s positive mantra of living life to its fullest. She was the best mother and grandmother that she knew how to be. She was proud of her daughters, loved her grandchildren and will be missed. We are grateful she is now resting in peace.
In lieu of calling hours, all friends and loved ones are invited to join us in a celebration of her life from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Knollwood Lodge in Northampton Park on Sunday January 15, 2017.
Donations can be made to Interlakes Oncology and Hematology in lieu of flowers; 211 White Spruce Blvd Rochester NY 14623, Attn Sue Joynson.

We enjoyed the moment for a year and a half, you picked me up when I was at my lowest point. You knew I had lost my wife of 43 years to that dreaded disease called the big C. You brought laughter back into my life. We went to concerts, car shows, festivals, we danced at the concert at the BEACH AND Barnard Exempt, we wine and dine ,we took walks up and down the path way of the Genesee river. You Doreen showed me and open doors to other joys of life. For that I will always be greatful to you. Love you and the times we shared. May you RIP, the pain is gone.
So sorry to hear of Doreen’s passing. I knew Doreen from No. 39 School. I was secretary there for many years. I then ran into her many times at Jackson’s Bakery. She was always so cheerful. My sincerest sympathy to her family.
Jill and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. My thought are with you and your family during this difficult time.
I WORKED WITH DOREEN AT TOPS MARKETS FOR MANY YEARS. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON, AND WILL BE MISSED. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY.
I met Doreen when she started working at Tops. Doreen was a hard worker and I am very sad to have heard of Doreen’s passing. Doreen was always happy when I would see her. To the family I am very sorry for your loss.
To:
The Family and Friends of Doreen.
Please accept my Deepest Prayers and Sympathy on the loss of Doreen, It’s often hard to know what to say when you lose a Loved One.
I too like most of her friends and family loved her, Doreen and I dated for a while during High School, we were a couple of years apart, the US Government had other ideas for my immediate future just after Graduating.
I did not want to continue the relationship knowing full well what might happen over in Asia. It was after that when we lost contact. I tried to reconnect with her but found that she had moved and also ended up at East High, after that no information until Facebook.
The one thing I do want you to know is that she was “Loved”……..the thing I missed the most was her smile, and she could get anything she wanted when she gave me her puppy dog eyes………no resistance or will power when she did that.
I do want to “THANK” whoever accepted my Friends request on her behalf; I received the friends request in mid-January a couple of weeks after her passing
I do have one request, and that is, one of you write me about her life.
I so want to know about her life,
I too have loss several family members to Cancer, my wife is a Breast Cancer survivor and we are interested and to what took her.
Love
Don and Esther Houghtaling
