Brockport, NY: Dorothy Jean Kinsey passed away peacefully on June 2, 2020 at 87 years of age, surrounded by loving family. Dorothy was born March 12, 1933 to the late Raymond and Marjorie Howell in Rochester, NY. Dorothy married the late Charles Christian Kinsey (1995) on June 2, 1951. Together they had 6 children and lived in Clarendon, NY. Many of her friends knew her as “Dot”. After her husband’s passing, Dorothy moved to Arizona with her granddaughter, Gloria Kinsey Mosher, and Gloria’s husband, Grant, finally settling in Brockport, NY, where she lived until her passing. Dorothy touched many lives with her loving words – she loved her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved baking and cooking with and for her grandchildren, and enjoyed making stuffed animals.
Dorothy’s parents, brother – Richard Howell (1963), daughter – Catherine Mary (1978), husband – Charles Christian (1995), daughter –in- law Deborah (2014), daughter – Gloria Jean (2019), son-in-law Robert (2019) , great-grandson Abel Christian Kinsey (2015), and grandson – Mark David Kinsey (2019) passed before her, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. May they all rest in peace.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Howell, her sons, Charles Roland (Leigh), David (Deborah – 2014), and daughters Carol (Ron Ryan) and Paula Carpenter (Robert – 2019). Her grandchildren are Anna and Douglas Kemp (Jessica and Aidan), Charles and Melissa Kinsey (Rebecca, Rachel, Elizabeth, Emma), Thomas and Jodie Kinsey (Nathaniel), Michael and Jennifer Kinsey (James and Brian), Orissa and Mike Hill (Tyler, McKenzie, Mason), John Carpenter (Maysie), Matthew Carpenter (Julia), Kelly Kinsey (Payge and David), Jimmy Kinsey, Aaron Kinsey (Haley), Kory Kinsey (Konrad and Kayden), Ronald and Kim Ryan, Kenny Ryan, and Gloria and Grant Mosher (Andrew, AJ, Trevor, Kayla and Kelsey), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dorothy lived her last years with Gloria and Grant Mosher in Brockport, NY. Her daughter, Gloria Jean (2019), and her granddaughter, Gloria, and Gloria’s husband, Grant, with Andrew, AJ, Kayla, and Kelsey helped care for Dorothy during her long struggle with cancer.
Gram Kinsey was an amazing women. Always full of smiles. She could always make you laugh!!! Gloria you were one of my best friends growing up, I swear we spent most our days at grams house! Oh the laughs!!! So many memories I will never forget!!! I love you!! Your family became my family through those years!!! Gram rest in peace!!! Lots of love the the family!!!
