Douglas Arthur Marzan, 76, of Waterloo passed away on October 15, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

He was born December 10, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Santiago and Frances (MacKay) Marzan.

Survivors include his wife Judy A. (Jacobs) Marzan of Waterloo, whom he married on May 10, 1970, in Auburn, NY. Three daughters and son, Wendy (Larry) Manino of Romulus, Tammy (Thomas) Laurenza of Waterloo, Cindy (Jennifer) Cuadra of Brockport and Joseph Jacobs of Dundee. Two brothers and a sister, Michael (Shirley) Marzan who resides in Georgia, Harl (Christina) Marzan who resides in Hawaii and sister Hildy Marzan who resides in Colorado. Doug has several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by an older brother Peter Marzan, stepdaughter Sue Holtby, two granddaughters Natasha Laurenza and Tiffany Manino.

Doug attended Waterloo Central School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy on April 21, 1966. Upon his return to from serving in the Vietnam War Doug was hired at ITT/Goulds Pumps. Doug was a charter member of Assembly Safety Team and received numerous awards for his contributions. Doug was an avid bowler and was on a member on numerous Goulds Pumps bowling leagues. After working at Goulds Pumps for thirty-seven years he retired in 2010.

Doug was an avid fisherman and loved to fish all the Finger Lakes. He participated in various local fishing derbies. Doug loved the Buffalo Bills and was still a fan after they squandered four Super Bowl opportunities. He loved getting together with friends and family to play cards however despised losing. Doug enjoyed going to Del Lago Casino.

There will be no calling hours. A burial service will be held at Sampson Veterans Cemetery in Romulus, NY on Friday October 25, 2024, at 11:00am. A celebration of life will take place proceeding the burial. In Doug’s honor donations can be made to the National Cancer Society.
