Duane R. Hamer
1950-2024
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the age of 73 Duane entered rest. He is predeceased by his wife Theresa A. Hamer, parents Charles and Mary Hamer, and brother Lance Hamer. He is survived by his children Djuanetta (Terry) Britt, Dalton Sr. (Ashley) Hamer, Deidra Hamer, Ronda Hamer Jackson; siblings Deborah Hughes, Craig Hamer, April Richardson, and Trent Hamer; grandchildren Chelise (Terrance) Hunter, Chandra Manning, Desmond Williams, Damani Johnson, D’niah Johnson, Dalton Hamer Jr., Ashton Hamer, Josiah Jenkins, and Payge Jeffries; great grand Zyona Hunter. As well as, special cousin Larry Harrison, best friend Bob Shultz, several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Duane graduated Franklin High School and attended MCC. He retired from Kodak; There he was a master electrician and Project Manager.
Duane loved attending church and was a member of Living Water World Wide Ministry under the Leadership of Pastor Chalonda Harp. Pastor Harp is his Bonus daughter. Duane accepted Christ as His Lord and Savior. His favorite pastimes were playing tonk, talking trash, eating good food, watching BET, and listening to his 70’s CD collection. He loved to sit on the porch in the sun too!

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
We will miss you Duane, I always enjoyed our special times together ( church, lunches, dinner and sitting on your deck having a glass of wine) and a in-depth conversation about people and life. I’ll cherish the memories I sat at your bedside and encouraging to be strong and hold on ( you did). You lived a good life and now you’ve been given your rest. A job well done!! Love you forever and always in our hearts 🙏🏾🕊️❤️
Sending my most heartfelt condolences and Love to Father Hamer’s Family. He was truly a Joy to be around. Anytime you were around him you were bound to laugh at his great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. To be absent from the Body is to be present with the Lord and I am sure Father Hamer is present with the Lord. When you begin to feel down Family Think of the good times because those good times always warm your heart and turn those down moments into joy and laughter. Sending you all my most heartfelt Prayers at this time.
My Sincere Condolences to the Hamer/Britt Family. I will miss Dad Hamer sitting in the back at Living Water World Wide Ministry as I would be ushering and he would give me directions on which way to turn the fan away from him. To the Hamer/Britt Family Thank You for sharing your Dad/Granddad with so many of us and allowing us to refer to him as Dad. He filled a void in my life and for that I am Thankful for the time I got to know him. My continued Prayers for Strength and Peace are with you all.
My Sincere Condolences to the family and friends, it was such a joy to see Mr. Hamer on Sunday morning with a huge smile on his face that he made it to fellowship with his church family, Mr. Hamer will be greatly missed at the Water!! Love You All!!
