Edward F Sammler, 82, Born October 26th, 1938 died peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday morning, May 19th, 2021.

Predeceased by his son Kevin P., loving wife Patricia D., sister Kathy Irish, mother Sophie Nash, and father Frank. Survived by his sister Carol (Art) Murphy, brother-in-law Chuck Irish, daughter Teresa Sweeney, sons Michael (Kimberleigh), Sean (Anne), and Patrick, granddaughters Aleni (Nick) Lemen, Alexis (Neal) Brooks, Meghan, Kaitlyn, and Michele Sweeney, grandson Kestrel Field Sammler, great-granddaughter Lily Lemen and many nieces and nephews.

He was a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force as a Guided Missile Launch Officer. He worked at Eastman Kodak as a Systems Engineer and Government Contractor. Once he retired, he worked as a substitute teacher for the Rochester City School District. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, bridge, watching the Giants and the Mets, going to church, and spending time with his loving family.

Edward’s wake will be held on Monday, May 24th from 4-7pm at Arndt Funeral Home, 1118 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY (south of Maiden Lane).  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 25th at 9:30am at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 North Greece Road, Rochester, NY.  Internment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

He will be missed dearly.

    I am very sorry for the family’s loss. He was a very tender soul and will be missed. He was also very nice to me.
