Rochester NY:  December 17, 2018.  Ella Edith was born October 18, 1928 to Franklin Mollack Jarmon and Ella Margret Smack Jarmon in Berlin, Maryland. She is the oldest of 14 children born to this family. Deceased are three brothers and one sister; Stanford Jarmon, William Jarmon, John Jarmon and Margret Jarmon. She raised her mother’s first 5 children while her mother worked as a maid in Berlin, Maryland. Surviving sisters and brothers are Catherine (William) Whaley, Ida (James) Williams, Peggy (Lawson) Showell, Barbara Doughty, Anna Wright, Elaine Jarmon, Joyce (Isaac) Jones, Lee Jarmon and Charles (Verda) Jarmon. Ella went to Atlantic City to live with her Aunt Fannie Smack Demolin and her husband. While there she met Jonas Mulkey (deceased) and they married in September 1949 for 34 splendid years. Born from this union was a son, Larry Jonas Mulkey and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Mulkey Jones. In her earlier years, she did childcare. She also worked in several jobs, Greenbergs Swimsuit Factory and was an employee at Woolco Department Store in Pleasantville, NJ. until it closed. Then she went around the corner to work for Thrift Drugs until retirement.

She was an active member of Asbury Methodist Church in Atlantic City, NJ. Upon moving to Plesantville, NJ. she then Joined Asbury Methodist Church which later merged with Salem Methodist Church.

In 2005 she moved to Rochester to live with her daughter, Cheryl Mulkey Jones. She Joined Zion Hill MBC in Rochester, NY, Pastor Rev. Richard Douglass and also attended Covenant Methodist Church, Pastor Ann Kemp.

Survivors also include Grandchildren; Venion Mulkey, Selina Jones, Camille Mulkey. Great Grandchildren; Nyckiyah Mulkey, TaQiyya Burrs, Brandon Graham, Ishana Rodriguez.
