Rochester, NY: December 19, 2020 at age 60.
Ellyn is survived by her husband Mark, son Nickolas and faithful dog Bella. She is also survived by her family members: brother John Sentiff, wife Wendy, niece Catie and nephew Ben; brother Michael Sentiff, wife Roxanne, nephew Josh and nephew Ethan; sister Anne Sentiff; brother Andrew Sentiff, wife Cheryl, niece Nicole and nephew Aidan; sister-in-law Dawn Chomyn and friends, Brenda, Laurie, and Mary C.
As she raised her son, Ellyn, a business graduate from RIT, worked in small college admissions, teeth construction in a dental lab, and as an event planner for a Rochester health agency. A myriad of interests included a thirst for non-fiction historical literature, needlepoint, love of her dogs and a life-long love of spending time with her whole family at Conesus Lake. Ellyn spent nearly a decade facing countless medical challenges. She did so with boundless courage and grace, always praying for those whom she felt had worse afflictions than her.
Her husband and son wish to thank individuals known and unknown for their prayers over the years. We also want to thank the doctors and their kind staff for always giving their expertise in ways that made Ellyn know she had friends, not just clinical resources: Dr. Edward Walsh, Dr. Daniel Flaherty, Dr. Zachary Kramer, Dr. Vijay Krishnamoorthy, and Dr. Syed Mustafa.
Because of COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, a memorial service will take place at a future date. Any contributions could be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The immeasurable love Mark and Nick have for Ellyn is eased by the deep solace in knowing she isn’t in pain anymore, is watching out for us with parents and in-laws, and can dance now, if the mood takes her.
