Elsie Joyce Burke “Waters”, 92 of Rochester, NY died on Monday, August 10, 2020 with family at her side.
She was born on February 19, 1928 in Spencerport, NY to Charles and Alice Waters.
She is survived by her children, Thomas J Burke (Arline Festing), Robert C Burke (Wynette Kirk), Gary L Burke (Deborah Patrick) and Diane J Burke Buchholz. Her grandchildren; Lyndsay (James) Fitzmaurice, Justin (Tiffany Costanza) Burke, Jeremiah Burke, Aaron Burke, Joshua (Elissa Martin) Burke, Ashley (Timothy) Garvin, Paige (Sean) Corcoran and Zachary Buchholz. Her great grandchildren; Olivia Fitzmaurice, Ava Fitzmaurice, Jaedyn Burke, River Burke, Caroline Burke, Abigail Burke, Heather Burke, Margaret Burke, Peter Garvin and Oliver Garvin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C Burke, daughter-in-law Arline Burke “Festing”, and other beloved family members.
Elsie graduated with her RN in nursing from the Park Avenue Nursing Program. She began her career as an RN at Park Avenue Hospital, was a school nurse at Mercy High School and concluded her career at Lakeshore Nursing Home.
She loved to travel, enjoyed day trips with her friends and regularly attended the local theater productions.
She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church and lifetime member of the Park Avenue Alumni Associate.
Private interment will take place at a later date. Arrangement were completed by Rochester Cremation.
