Pittsford NY: July 17, 1932, Ernie Ackerman, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Rose Ackerman. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 37 years, Judy, and children Jennifer Ackerman Mc Donough, Glenn, Brian, Steve (Betty) and Debbie (Michael Magil) and his grandchildren Mason, Sarah, David (Heather), Michelle, Rachel, Joshua and great- grandchild, Autumn Rose. Ernie leaves his only sibling, Richard Ackerman (Judy) and many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and business associates. Ernie attended RIT and spent his entire life as a residential real-estate land developer. He leaves his dear friend and business partner of over 35 years, Anthony DiPrima from A and D Development.
By his family, Ernie will be remembered as a beloved, devoted and generous husband, father, papa, brother and by his friends, a quiet, private, and honest person.
He was an avid golfer and loved his weekly poker games with his buddies Cy, Tom and Terry.

At his request, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of his life will take place at Oak Hill Country Club at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you may leave a donation to the Palliative Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital, to the Rochester General Hospital Association or to the School of the Holy Childhood in memory of Ernest Ackerman.
