Ethel Polinsky - Rochester Cremation

Ethel Rebecca Newman Polinsky
Rochester, NY: age 82. Ethel was welcomed home by the family who predeceased her on Friday July 26, 2024. Ethel was born in Grindstone PA in 1942 and was predeceased by her parents Harry E and Minnie L Gallagher Newman, her brothers Harry Ewing and Gary J. Newman, her son, Gary M. Veatch, and husband Richard Polinsky. Survived by her children Joy Rebstein, Jill (Robert) Romberg, James (Rynna) Veatch, 11 grandchildren: Robert (Ashley) Rebstein, Jessica Rebstein (Francisco) Zeledon, Benjamin (Christina) Rebstein; Seth and Ethan Romberg, Conner (Kamryn) Veatch, MB and Norhein Veatch; Kara, Adrianna, and Kaleb Veatch; as well as five great grandchildren: Cassidy Rebstein; Eliana, Lucas, and Olivia Zeledon; and Lily Mae Veatch.
Ethel was an avid crafter who loved to share her creations with all of her family and friends. Whenever Ethel learned a new craft, you could be sure she showered her family with variations of her beautiful work which included quilting, crocheting, glass etching and flower arranging. After graduating high school in PA in 1960, she did not further her education until the age of 62 when she went to cosmetology school while living in Florida. She enjoyed her time as a nail technician and often used her artistic talent to create beautiful nail designs on her friends and customers when she completed her training and became licensed. She lived in Florida from 1990 until 2014 and made many friends at Mouse Mountain in Davenport Florida. After the death of her husband in 2014, she moved back to Rochester to be closer to family, and continued her legacy of crafting for family and new friends at her new home at Ogden Gardens.
A special thank you to the URMC Hospice Care team for their compassionate care during Ethel’s final days. The support you provided to the family was invaluable.
Friends are welcome to join the family at a memorial service to remember Ethel on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 1pm at Park Ridge Free Methodist Church, 10 Straub Road, Rochester, NY 14626. Interment will be private at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or to the Park Ridge Free Methodist Church benevolence fund in Ethel’s name would be welcomed.
