Attended in her final days by Molly, Miranda and Jenna of Rochester Regional Hospice. Her hospitalization followed a fall in her East Henrietta home in May.
Nancy is survived by her son Jonathan Neil Stump, sister Carol Ann Frezza née Schillinger and brother David Lee Schillinger, as well as nieces Brenda Lynn Foley and Dawn Schillinger Zuber, and nephews David Schillinger Jr. and Timothy Schillinger.
Also survived by Ken Zuber, David Zuber and wife Kenna, Colleen and husband Kody Goutremout, Tina, Emily, and Megan Schillinger, Susie, Bradley, and Shelby and husband Chris Bailey. Photos of baby Chase Bailey brightened her final months, and the baby shower was one of her last outings.
Nancy graduated from Rush Henrietta Central School in 1955 and went on to join Carol at Syracuse University for 2 years majoring in Fine Arts. She belonged to the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and sang in the Hendricks Chapel Choir. Nancy enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She left SU to marry Walt.
Her favorite drive was to Canandaigua Lake. Second was Letchworth and the Glen Iris Inn. She also loved Mendon Ponds and the baby Canadian geese in spring. Aurora, on Cayuga Lake and the home of Wells College, was another favorite. Stops there included Dorie’s Cafe and the MacKenzie-Childs farm and gardens.
She watched tv news faithfully, was a solid Democrat, and loved campy shows like The Bachelor. She took great joy in her garden, especially when she saw red cardinals. Her favorite restaurant was just down the street from her house.
In her earlier years she was a caretaker for her father Wilbur, and then her mother Florence until her passing. Later she was grateful for assistance from Marie Schillinger and greatly mourned her in 2023.
At her request no services will be held. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Rochester Regional Hospice.
Internment planned at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery in Rush.
